City archivist Kristian Buhl Thomsen invites you to a city walk on Thursday evening, June 13 at 19:00-20:30. The walk starts in front of the Red Church. On the walk, you can learn more about why Skive’s houses look the way they do. And you can see places that you might not have known.
Enter gates and courtyards and see the city’s last half-timbered houses that bear witness to what Skive’s houses once looked like before the great city fires of the 1700s.
Hear about the town hall and see the idyllic garden behind it, which is also home to the old town jail.
Also hear about the wooden fence that surrounded the town for several hundred years. This is where the customs officers stood guard when the peasants tried to smuggle goods into the square.
These are some of the topics that will be covered during the walk.
After the walk, Museum Salling offers coffee and cookies in the museum’s pop-up shop in Nørregade.
Everyone is welcome and it is free to participate. No registration is required.
Important: The walk is approximately 1.5 km. Start in front of Skive Church (the red church).
The walk is part of Skiveegnens Kulturuge.
